Awarded:<\/strong> May 1947<\/p>\n Blazon:<\/strong> An Eagle\u2019s leg erased proper holding in the claw a Sword in its Scabbard in bend Gules hilted Sable<\/p>\n Link:<\/strong> The group symbolises its close association with the Army Airborne forces, both paratroops and glider pilots, by adopting as its badge an eagle\u2019s leg grasping a sword to indicate the Army being carried into action by units of the group.<\/p>\n Motto:<\/strong> Par nobil of fratri<\/em> \u2013 A noble pair of brothers.<\/p>\n History:<\/strong> Initially formed at Netheravon on 11 October 1943, disbanding at Upavon on 1 February 1951. It re-formed as No 38 (Air Support) Group at Upavon on 1 January 1960 disbanding there once more by being merged into No 1 Group on 17 November 1983. It finally re-formed at High Wycombe on 1 November 1992 and remains current.
