Blazon: In front of a York Rose a Bugle Horn proper

Link: This unit adopted as its badge the Wakeman’s Horn of Ripon, which has been used from an early date to give the alarm at the approach of danger. The York Rose has been introduced to indicate the location of the Station in Yorkshire

Date of Issue: February 1951

Motto: Latin: Qui operit canlum – Who covereth the Heaven

History: Opened July 40 as satellite to Dishforth. Became base Station 1/3/43. Stn HQ Close 1972 transferred to Army. re-opened as Alanbrooke barracks 1974. Airfield still live as satellite station to Linton-on-Ouse.
