Blazon: A Sea-Dragon per fess Gules and Azure supporting with the sinister claw the badge of the Prince of Wales as Heir Apparent to the throne and grasping in its dexter claw a Sword erect Argent hilted and pomelled Or
Link: The sea-dragon, taken from the Arms of Preseli District Council, the upper part of which is coloured red to identify the unit’s location as being in Wales, with the lower part coloured blue to denote its association with the Royal Navy. The sword is taken from the badge of Strike Command of which Brawdy is a part, and the Badge of the Heir Apparent to the Throne is included in allusion to the Prince of Wales’ position as the Station’s Honorary Air Commodore.

History: RAF Brawdy opened on 2 April 1944 and transferred to the Royal Navy from January 1946, becoming HMS Goldcrest on 4 September 1952 until 1971. From then until February 1974 it was reduced to Care & Maintenance after which it re-opened as RAF Brawdy. By 1 April 1993 all flying had ceased and it was reduced to Care & Maintenance once more until it transferred to Army control, becoming Cawdor Barracks on 31 March 1996.
