History: Coastal Command formed by renaming Coastal Area on 1 May 1936. On 28 November 1969 it became part of Strike Command being reduced to Group status as No 18 Group and the badge transferred to that unit.
Commissioned by Charlotte Tandy in Memory of her Grandfather Flt Lt Sidney Ralph Walker, 1914-1986, a Liberator skipper who flew with 120 Squadron 1943-45 and dedicated to all who served with Coastal Command.
