Blazon: A Pterodactyl rising from the Rocks all proper

Link: This unit, being one of the oldest stations in the RAF chose for its badge a pterodactyl rising from rocks to symbolise the first days of flying. The rocks also have reference to the location of the station near Stonehenge.

Motto: Latin: In principio et semper – In the beginning and always.

History: Opened in May 1912 as an RFC station and home to the Army Central Flying School, becoming RAF Station Upavon on 1 April 1918 and transferred to Army control on 3 August 1993.
