Awarded: October 1983
Blazon: In front of an Annulet Azure surmounted by two Towers of the same one in chief and one in base a Frigate Bird volant proper.
Link: The towers allude to the concept of Fortress UK and Fortress Falklands with the flow and return of personnel and stores represented by the annulet. The frigate bird with its wings extended over the sides of the annulet symbolises the vital role of the air force on the island and is indigenous to the area.
Motto: Latin: Auxilium trans mare. decode
History: In RAF use since 1943 but not officially named until 1982. Remains current.
Sponsored by Just Wood and dedicated to all who have served at RAF Station Ascension Island.
