History: Formed at Hinaidi on 1 February 1922 by raising Iraq Group to Command status. It was renamed AHQ Iraq & Persia on 1 January 1943 before reverting to AHQ Iraq on 1 March 1946 before being renamed AHQ Levant on 1 May 1955. On 15 January 1956 it moved to Cyprus absorbing AHQ Cyprus and assuming responsibility for Cyprus, Iraq and El Adem, finally disbanding on 1 April 1958
