Link: The station at Malta adopted the badge to commemorate associations with the island and are symbolic of the work being done by the present day ‘knights’ who defend the island against all comers

We remember the sacrifice and constant endeavour in the defence of the fortress island of Malta G.C. in the face of adversity, of the men and women of the RAF 1939-1945. Commissioned by Adam Collins, grandson of the Adjutant at RAF Ta Kali, Sid Collins, during the siege of Malta.
