Link: The swallow is symbolic of reconnaissance work at varying heights and is a link with the Mediterranean where the squadron was stationed at Malta. The tomahawk is a connection with the type of aircraft used at that time.

History: Formed from Nos. 433 & 434 RNAS at Calafrana, Malta in August 1918 disbanding on 11 October 1919. Re-formed at Bury St. Edmunds on 30 September 1940 finally disbanding at Cambrai-Epinoy on 31 March 1946
