Link: The elephant was adopted as a symbol in 1914-18 mainly to remember the Martinside Elephant aircraft with which the Sqn was equipped.

History: Formed Hounslow Heath 5 November 1915

Commissioned by No 27 (R) Sqn and dedicated to all air and ground crew killed while serving on 27 Sqn.
